You have reached Saima Anis (Anise) Shaikh's website.  The purpose of this website is twofold, first is to introduce myself and some of my work to the readers, and second to generate business for myself.  Hence, this is a combination of a business and personal website.

Introduction:

I am an Artist, Writer, Counsellor, and Consultant by profession.  I was born in Lahore, Pakistan in 1968 and since 1979 have resided in Ontario, Canada.

I started my: Art, Writing, Counselling and Consulting business in 1994-95 in Peterborough, Ontario from my small one bedroom apartment, while looking for employment with two of the local area newspapers as a reporter, and employment with various local organizations and businesses.  And since that time, I have worked for various organizations and individuals, both for profit and not-for-profit.

My early childhood infulences in: teaching, visual arts, writing, and business were from my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles; whose humanity, love, intelligence and creativity left lasting impression on me as a young child.

Later, in Canada I had some excellent teachers in: elementary school, high school and university, these handfull of exceptionally bright and talented teachers, again made a lasting impression on my creativity and love of learning.  And over the years many friends, colleagues, and enemies have provided ample learning opportunites.

I teach and have taught: Toddlers, Children, Teens and Adults: English, ESL, Creative Writing, and Visual Arts- drawing, painting,and multimedia classes/workshops. And have conducted anti-racism workshops, and group mediation sessions.
